This year, the Justice Field Hockey team had one of their most successful seasons yet. With 10 wins and 2 losses, it was one of the best records Justice Field Hockey has ever had. Along with their impeccable record, they also won the National District Championship for the first time since 1972 and advanced to the Quarterfinals of the Regional Tournament for the first time in school history.

The official field hockey season started February 15 and ended April 14 for Justice High School.  The typical field hockey season is August to November, but because of COVID-19, Virginia adjusted and condensed the athletic seasons. However, to be successful during games, the team spent a lot of time working in the off-season to get in shape and develop their field hockey skills. They began incorporating COVID safe workouts at the end of June 2020. They worked out 2-3 times a week from June to February in preparation for their season.

During the season, they practiced or had games from Monday to Saturday each week. With all the extra practice, the players were bound to be recognized for their advanced skills. Six of the players were honored with First Team All-District, and five players got Second Team All-District. One player got Honorable Mention All-District. Three players received First Team All-Region Honors, and two players were Honorable Mention All-Region.  Ms. Vestal, the Justice Field Hockey coach, received the Coach of the Year for the District.  As you can see, the team has worked extremely hard, so if you ever bump into any of the players or coaches, congratulate them and wish them luck for next year!
