Haikyu!! The manga was written before the anime adaptation was made. it consisted of forty-five volumes. The manga was written and illustrated by Haruichi Furudate and was published on June 4th, 2012 to Weekly Shonen Jump. It was later adapted into a show with four seasons. 

Shōyō Hinata, a grade-schooler, becomes obsessed with volleyball after watching Karasuno highschool play in nationals against Shiratorizawa academy. Fast forward and Hinata are in his third year of junior high. His first competition against Kitagawa Daiichi, who had a strong player Tobio Kageyama, whom everyone called “The King of The Court” because he is a talented setter. After Hinata’s team gets crushed by the ‘king’, Hinata swears that he will beat him in the future. A year passes and Hinata is on his way to his first day of practice, he is surprised to learn that Kageyama is also a part of the team. 

Even if you don’t like sports, or have no knowledge of volleyball,  this anime does a great job of keeping you interested with many captivating character developments, many relatable characters, and is a great source of entertainment. Although the show is supposed to be about the boy’s volleyball team of Karasuno Highschool, many amazing background characters get recognition along the way. The team goes through many hardships like fights, arguments, and facing off other opponents and teams. You can watch this hilarious and exciting show on Crunchyroll, Netflix, VRV, and Hulu.
