Do you have your wish list for the holidays yet? Well, if you don’t, in this article, I’m going to be telling you what games I and many others are recommending for you to enjoy over the holidays, in no particular order. This article features Nintendo Switch games released at the end of 2019 to 2020. As Mario says, let’s-a-go!
- Animal Crossing: New Horizons (2020)
Retail Price: $59.99
Animal Crossing: New Horizon lets you enjoy life on your very own island! The game has some good educational values in some elements. An example is the huge amount of positive messages, with themes of friendship, helping others, and developing a strong community. Not to mention the game is extremely easy to play because you won’t find yourself clicking too many buttons, and most of the game is quite intuitive.
New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe (2019)
Another quality game! The platformer is simply beautiful, boasting 1080p graphics in dock mode, but the controls are also really clean! You mostly only need to press two buttons, for running and jumping. There are eight “worlds” in the game, with one secret world. Each one has a different theme (Desert, Mountain, Ocean, Volcano, etc.) and you start off in the Grassland world. Overall, this is a really good game, and with over 164 fun-filled courses (not to mention challenges), this is one, no, two, I guess, great games!
- Super Mario Maker 2 (2020)
What’s better than playing Mario games? Making Mario games, of course! First of all, you can choose between five different game designs! The original Super Mario Bros (1985), the colorful Super Mario Bros. 3 (1988), the nostalgic Super Mario World (1990), or the fresh New. Super Mario Bros U (2012)! And what’s better than 2D Mario games? 3D Mario Games! You can also make levels in the Super Mario 3D World (2013) mode! It’s definitely a fresh new switch in level creating! Overall, this game is amazing, but the downside is, in order to play other people’s levels, you need to buy Nintendo Switch Online, which costs $20 dollars a year.
- Pokemon Sword and Shield (2019)
This game may be a little disappointing if you look at it with a critical eye, but if you play it casually, it’s a fairly solid game. There are so many cool Pokemons to capture, and the battles are really fun! Overall, this is a decent, relaxed game to get into the franchise.
- Super Mario 3D All-Stars – 2020
If you’re a true Mario fan, you’re gotta pick up this game! It comes with three exciting and enjoyable adventures, Super Mario 64 (1996), Super Mario Sunshine (2002), and Super Mario Galaxy (2007). Also, this game is a great collector’s item that you should expect to grow rapidly in value over the next several years as it is only available for sale physically and on Eshop until March 31, 2021.
Honorable Mentions
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (2018)
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild (2017)
- Super Mario Odyssey (2017)
- Luigi’s Mansion 3 (2019)
- Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (2018)
Thank you so much for reading this article! I hope this article helps you decide which Nintendo Switch games you want for the holidays!
