Journalism – The Elective Course!

Diana Prudius, she/her, is an 8th Grader at Glasgow Middle School. Her whole family is from Moldova, but she was born in the United States. At home she speaks English and Romanian. She loves everything about the arts, playing piano, alto saxophone, writing music, singing, writing poetry, and dancing ballet. Math is her favorite subject, and she enjoys reading about black holes and dark matter. The Umbrella Academy is Diana’s favorite tv show by far.

Carlin Adjula is an 8th grader at Glasgow Middle School, Her ethnicity originates from the Philippines and she loves to embrace that. She also likes entertainment such as K-drama and Anime, along with listening to music artists such as, Yoasobi, Dreamcatcher, LiSA, Itzy, etc. Some of her hobbies include singing, dancing, along with attempting to learn new languages. Overall, she's dedicated to what she does, and always tries her hardest.

Alisa Oden (she/her) is an 8th grader at Glasgow Middle School. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee, but has lived in Virginia for most of her life. She enjoys dancing, singing, theater, and playing the violin. Some of her hobbies include sewing and baking, but one of her favorite things to do is paint. She is very passionate about engineering and STEM. This is her third year writing for the Panther Post.

Ruth "Katte" Tewodros is an 8th grader at Glasgow Middle School. She was born in Ethiopia, but has lived half of her life in Virginia.
This is her first year in journalism. She loves to play sports, participate in competitions, and try new things.

Raine Jeff (They/Them) is an 8th Grader at Glasgow Middle School. They grew up in Virginia and have lived there for their whole life. They dance, play soccer, like doing art, baking, and taking care of their plants. They have a dog that they got during the pandemic and adore. They enjoy learning and being challenged to think in new ways.

Dorian Horvat is a seventh-grader who is originally from Croatia, but currently lives in Virginia. He is a content creator for his YouTube channel "Dorian's World" where he has over 3,400 subscribers and over 280 videos. He is a huge Pokemon, Mario, and soccer fan, supporting Croatia, Dinamo Zagreb, Bayern, and AC Milan. His favorite things to do in his free time include reading and writing, recording and editing videos, making creative designs in Photoshop, and drawing.

Gavin Tilock is a 7th grader at Glasgow Middle School and this is his first year with the Panther Post. Gavin was born in Falls Church, VA. Gavin enjoys playing cello in his free time. Besides playing cello, he also likes to play sports; his favorite sport to play is baseball. He enjoys being a part of the Panther Post and hopes that you enjoy reading it!

Sama Harith is a 6th grader that attends Glasgow Middle School, She was born in Iraq but raised in Maryland and Virginia, She loves to dance to K-Pop songs and listen to them. Some artists she listens to are, Beach bunny, Itzy, Loona, Twice, Hyuna, UHSN, Chung Ha, EverGlow, and more. She loves playing video games, She's learning korean, and loves talking to friends.

Rushel Grillo has been a part of the Glasgow Team for four years. She loves the community and leadership in this school and is proud to be a Panther. This is her 10th year in FCPS where she has taught students spanning 4th-8th grade. Currently, she is the Journalism Program teacher. Her classes include Journalism 101, Media Communications and Yearbook. Other responsibilities include a Lead on the Instructional Technology Team, Leader Mentor and CT Leader of the Design Department.
Rushel finished her undergraduate degree from Houghton College with BA in Psychology. After a career in youth counseling and business, Rushel went back to school to procure her M.Ed of Curriculum & Instruction from George Mason University. She has an endorsement in Advanced Academics and truly loves teaching Critical and Creative thinking skills. Rushel is also the Color Guard Instructor at Mount Vernon High School. Tomas Wayar is an 8th grader at Glasgow Middle School. He is from Argentina, but he has lived most of his life in the United States. In his free time, he likes to play chess, talk with his friends, write, do math puzzles, stare at maps, and play video games. One day, he hopes to either be a lawyer or a doctor.
