FCPS Lanza un Nuevo Calendario Inclusivo

En caso de que aún no lo supiera, FCPS ha creado un calendario nuevo y más diverso para ser más inclusivo con las diferentes religiones y culturas. Ahora, en lugar de que los descansos y los días libres se centren en las festividades cristianas o convencionales, se colocan de manera más flexible para adaptarse a diferentes culturas y religiones.
El nuevo calendario incluye muchos días festivos como Yom Kipur, Eid-al-Fitr, el Día de los Reyes Magos y el Año Nuevo Lunar. Con todas las nuevas inclusiones, los estudiantes y maestros no tendrán el día libre, pero no habrá exámenes ni trabajos importantes en estos días y habrá lecciones culturales para ese día festivo. Como resultado, los estudiantes tendrán la oportunidad de aprender sobre diferentes culturas y religiones.
Como puede ver, el nuevo calendario inclusivo es una gran mejora con respecto al anterior. Al agregar más días festivos, FCPS puede ser más acogedor para los estudiantes de todos los orígenes y culturas.
Isabella Pikner (she/her) is an 8th grader at Glasgow. She’s from Slovenia and moved to Virginia when she was 4. She plays volleyball and the cello. She likes drawing, painting, and the arts in general. A couple fun facts about her is that she used to dance for 10 years and her favorite movies are Howl’s Moving Castle and A Silent Voice.
Zev Laufer is in 7trh grade at Glasgow middle school. He is from Alexandria, Virginia. Zev enjoys playing video games and basketball. He also has a large collection of Funko pops. Zev’s favorite movie series is Lord of the Rings.
Gavin Tilock is a 7th grader at Glasgow Middle School and this is his first year with the Panther Post. Gavin was born in Falls Church, VA. Gavin enjoys playing cello in his free time. Besides playing cello, he also likes to play sports; his favorite sport to play is baseball. He enjoys being a part of the Panther Post and hopes that you enjoy reading it!
