It’s been about 10 months before the FDA issued the EUA (First Emergency Use Authorization) for the use of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccines for 16 and older. It has been about 5 months since the authorization spread to 12-15 year old’s. Now, Pfizer has announced that they successfully created a new COVID-19 vaccine for 5-11 year old’s.
During the trial, which included 2,268 people who were 5-11 years old, the vaccine demonstrated a favorable safety profile and erupted robust neutralizing antibody responses according to a two-dose regimen of 10 μg doses. The data has been shared with the FDA. A formal submission was made to request emergency use authorization for the vaccine. The issue is supposed to come in the next following weeks.
The vaccine will come out in late October or early November! Until then, please sit tight and keep yourself and others safe.
