New year, new principal! If you didn’t know, Glasgow has been searching for a new principal for a while now, and as of Monday, May 3rd, we are finally welcoming our new principal, Mr. Victor Powell!
Mr. Powell is an incredibly empathetic and caring teacher and principal. He grew up playing sports and loving art. He’s taught 4th grade, 5th grade, 6th grade, 8th grade, coached track at the middle school level, has been an
assistant principal at the high school level and more. He’s compassionate towards students and states, “kids aren’t a job.” He says he dislikes when people think that way and he wants to do his best to help every single student. He hopes he can continue keeping Glasgow a kind and welcoming place for everyone. If you want to learn more about Mr. Powell, you can watch a broadcast about him that is coming out soon!
This means that Ms. Madigan won’t serve as our acting principal anymore, we won’t forget all the amazing work that she did for our community. Send her an email to wish her well. Also, if you see Mr. Powell around, make sure to give him a warm welcome!

Isabella Pikner (she/her) is an 8th grader at Glasgow. She’s from Slovenia and moved to Virginia when she was 4. She plays volleyball and the cello. She likes drawing, painting, and the arts in general. A couple fun facts about her is that she used to dance for 10 years and her favorite movies are Howl’s Moving Castle and A Silent Voice.
