Glasgow Band Students Prepare Winter Concert
December 2, 2021
There is a concert on December 9th at Glasgow Middle School from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm for all of the Glasgow bands.
This is a very exciting experience for the young musicians, but it’s also nerve-racking. Some of the band students are just learning how to play while the more experienced students have played various concerts beforehand. Some of the things that the band kids are excited about are getting to play instruments together for a real audience. Diana Prudius, an 8th grader in Wind Ensemble says, “I’m excited about getting a chance to play some new music.” Most of the students who are in the band are really excited to be able to play some new music like Diana. Band students are also thrilled to be performing since most of them haven’t participated in a concert due to Covid-19.
A common fright most of the musicians have in all of the bands is that they might play the wrong note and mess up in front of everyone. Carlos Quinteros Ponce, a 6th grader in Symphonic Band, says that he is scared that he will mess up in front of the audience.
The band students are really excited about this, so be sure to come on over to Glasgow to support these young musicians at Glasgow Middle School from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm on December 9th.

Charlotte Smith (she/her) is a 6th grader at Glasgow Middle school. She is from San Diego California but grew up all over the USA. Charlotte enjoys drawing dragons, reading fiction books, playing her clarinet, and diving. She loves her family and her dog and continues to keep working hard.
